Dr Wong is a cardiologist have an interest in cardiovascular and holistic medicine in patients with long-term multisystem diseases.

Dr Wong had an exposure to different medical specialties in his earlier training years – diabetes mellitus & endocrinology, gastroenterology, nutrition, rheumatology, dermatology, haematology, oncology, radiotherapy, and also general medicine. Such exposure in different areas sculpted his treatment philosophy: treatment of the whole person, taking into account of multisystem diseases and mental and social factors, rather than just cardiovascular diseases.

Dr Wong’s main interests are in performing and interpreting cardiac imaging tests, particularly echocardiogram and cardiac computed tomography, and interpreting the results specific to the patient’s circumstances, as an accurate specialist assessment is the cornerstone for appropriate and successful treatment. Moreover, he performs cardiac catheterisation for investigation of coronary artery disease, cardiac pressures and thoracic aorta; percutaneous coronary intervention for treatment of symptomatic angina and acute coronary syndromes; pacemaker implantation for treatment of heart block and slow heart beats; and cardioverter defibrillator for treatment of dangerous heart rhythms.

Dr Wong was appointed as a consultant cardiologist and physician at Aintree University Hospital in 2001, a teaching hospital of the University of Liverpool, and also affiliated with Liverpool John Moores University & Edge Hill University, dealing with a wide spectrum of cardiovascular and other medical diseases. He has accumulated experiences in both Cardiac Care Unit and Intensive Care Unit in managing difficult cases involving different body organs.

Professor Clive Cockram joined Asia Medical Specialists in 2008 as a Specialist in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism.

Professor Cockram had previously spent more than 20 years in the Academic Department of Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was Professor of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Honorary Consultant Physician to the Prince of Wales Hospital. He was the Head of Endocrinology and Diabetes Division until the SARS outbreak in 2003, following which he took charge of the Infectious Diseases Division at the Hospital. .

Though he Joined the private sector, he still remains an Emeritus Professor of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and is appointed as the Clinical Consultant of Clinical Skills Learning Centre at the university.

Professor Cockram has been involved in a number of major international organisations including being Vice-President of International Diabetes Federation (IDF) (2000-2006), Chair of the IDF Education Foundation (1997-2006) and Chair of the IDF Western Pacific Region (1997-2000). He also served as a short-term consultant and technical advisor for World Health Organisation on various occasions between 1991 to 2008. .

Dr YP Tai is a General Surgeon specialising in surgical treatments of chest, lung, oesophagus and conditions related to the abdomen.

Dr Tai has particular interest in minimally invasive video-assisted thoracoscopic (VAT) procedures. He is also interested in other forms of minimally invasive procedures, such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendicectomy and hernia repair.

Dr Tai has experiences in all aspects of general surgery from the treatment of haemorrhoids to the treatment of oesophageal cancers. He is also experienced in endoscopy, including bronchoscopy, gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr Tai is qualified as a general surgeon since 1982. After years of working in UK and Netherland, he decided to continue his practices in Hong Kong. He joined Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in 1990. Dr Tai further was appointed as Consultant Surgeon at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital from 1995-2010, taking care of general and thoracic surgery, before leaving the public sector

Dr Tai is very active in teaching: he is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at both The University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Dr Tai, who is based in Hong Kong, is also a visiting consultant at Eur Am International Medical Center in Guangzhou.
