Comirnaty Bivalent and XBB vaccines in Marina Medical.

The new generation JN.1 -19 vaccine (Comirnaty® Omicron JN.1 -19 Vaccine) is available for vaccination. 

In virus neutralization assays, these JN.1 subvariants showed substantial resistance to the serum of individuals vaccinated with the XBB.1.5 COVID vaccine, i.e. individuals vaccinated with the XBB.1.5 COVID vaccine may not be immune to the latest JN.1 subvariants circulating in the community today. Though JN.1 appears to be more transmissible, the symptoms of an infection with the JN.1 variant do not appear to be more severe than other COVID variants.

It is suggested that people who are at hjigh risk, who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 more than six months ago or have been infected should arrange to receive the new JN.1 COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible.

Who should get JN.1 vaccine?

Regardless of whether you have received any COVID-19 vaccine, all persons who is 12 years and older can receive the JN.1 vaccine. For individuals who have previously been vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine, JN.1 should be administered at least 3 months after the most recent dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

People 12 years and older who are severely immunocompromised
According to the pharmaceutical manufacturer, people with immune system issues can receive more than one dose of the JN.1 vaccine. Please consult your doctor for details.
