Dermal Fillers
Dermal filler injections are a nonsurgical cosmetic procedure in which your doctor injects fillers directly beneath your skin to restore volume to your face, smooth out wrinkles, and plump up lines.
Why Dermal Fillers?
People get dermal fillers to enhance their facial features or gain a more youthful appearance. There is little recovery time after the treatment, typically lasting for a few days. Depending on the type of filler used and the area, results can be apparent immediately and can endure for months or even years.
- Fill Wrinkles and Folds - Hyaluronic acid within the fillers can help to fill and smooth the fine lines, making the complexion appear more youthful and healthy.
- Adding Facial Volume - As we age, we naturally lose volume in the face due to a decrease in collagen and fat. Dermal fillers can help restore this lost volume instantly, creating a more vibrant, refreshed look.
- Correct Depressions and Hollows - Filling depression or hollow areas, such as under-eye throughs and temple hollows.
- Plump the Lips - Hyaluronic acid injections can enhance the volume and fullness of the lips
What are the types of Dermal Fillers available:
Dermal fillers come in many different varieties, some of the common fillers including hyaluronic acid (HA), Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), Polycapolactone (PCL), Calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) and Peptide injections. Your doctor will talk to you about your alternatives. There are risks associated with any cosmetic procedure, such as infection, bleeding, and bruising.
- Hyaluronic acid fillers: Made from a naturally occurring sugar found in the skin, these can help provide volume and hydration. Some examples are Juvederm, Restylane, Redensity R2, and Belotero.
- Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) Fillers: Contain microspheres of calcium and phosphate minerals and provide a more robust, longer-lasting volume. Examples include Radiesse, HARmonyCA
- Poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA) Fillers: help to stimulate the body's own collagen production. The advantage is providing gradual, natural-looking results over time. Example is Sculptra
- Polycapolactone (PCL) Fillers: help to stimulate the body's own collagen production. The advantage is providing gradual, natural-looking results over time. Also for better skin quality and lifting effect. Some examples are Ellansé, and Gouri(Lifting effect)
- Poly-D, L-Lactic Acid(PDLLA) Biostimulator: help to stimulate the body's own collagen production. For voluming and filling depressed areas. Example: Aesthefill
- Peptide Fillers: Target Medium to deep skin implantation to treat damaged subcutaneous tissue caused by chemical, physical and traumatic effects, such as facial wrinkles, creases or nasolabial lines and to restore facial shape. Example: Prostalayne Series: Natural-B
